Synthetic Beeswax description
Synthetic beeswax is a vegan wax-like material designed to mimic the properties of natural beeswax. It is composed of fatty alcohols and esters. In cosmetics, synthetic beeswax is used for the same purposes as its natural counterpart. It is an emollient, skin protectant, and texture enhancer. In its raw form it is a white to pale yellow color. The independent Cosmetic Ingredient Review board has ruled synthetic beeswax safe as used in skin care and makeup, where its maximum usage is 18% in mascaras. You’ll also find this ingredient in lipsticks, moisturizing balms, and ointments.
