Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-10 description

Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-10 is a cosmetic ingredient – a synthetic peptide – obtained through the reaction of palmitic acid and tetrapeptide-10. Lysine, threonine and phenylalanine are the amino acids whose sequence comprises this peptide. It is marketed under the trade names Crystalide™, which is a blend of the protein with carrier compounds, and SpecPed® P4T10P. At the time of this writing, this peptide isn’t in wide use in cosmetics and there isn’t a breadth of independent research regarding its efficacy in skin care products. Its manufacturer claims palmitoyl tetrapeptide-10 promotes skin brightness and smoothness by speeding up skin’s shedding process. The independent Cosmetic Ingredient Review considers palmitoyl tripeptide-10 a skin conditioning ingredient. Used on its own, the recommended concentration is 0.0006%.
